Merlin Takes Guests on an Trip Around the Culinary World

02.03.17

On the evening of Wednesday 1st March, the team at Merlin Events launched the newly refurbished Eye Lounge bar at County Hall to over 200 event planners, corporate event bookers and agents.

After taking in the breathtaking 360-degree views of the capital from the Coca-Cola London Eye, guests were welcomed into the Riverside Rooms where they would be able to experience an eclectic journey around the culinary world.

The Baltic Room hosted Blini Bars where guests put together their own creations choosing from an assortment of duck rillette, smoked fish, and caviar. Swedish meatballs with mash and lingonberry jam, as well as cod fricassée and pyttipanna were circulated in bowls.

South America was the next destination, with rainforest trees and carnival-themed décor. Guests enjoyed steaming bowls of king prawn boo boo and veggie feijoada with coriander rice, while completely immersed in the carnival vibe.

The Asian Room boasted delights from across the East where food ranged from Chinese street food stalls to a sushi belt. After a stop at the final room, the Speakeasy, guests could then head down to the London Dungeon’s Tavern where they were able to dance through to midnight!

The event was the perfect way to relaunch the Eye Lounge. Just  a stone’s throw from the Coca-Cola London Eye, the space fits seamlessly with the adjacent Riverside Rooms, which overlook the Palace of Westminster and River Thames. The refurbished venue will be available for guests to enjoy for a range of occasions tied in with London’s famous wheel, from private receptions, to corporate events and even weddings.
