Another Great Year With London's Finest Event Boats
2016 marked our third year as sole caterer with London's premier fleet of event boats, Thames Luxury Charters. From the clean and modern design of the Erasmus to the elegance of the Capital's largest event boat the Dixie Queen, the fleet's diversity enables TLC to accommodate any type of event and 2016 didn't disappoint.
With such a unique offering of having truly luxurious venues complimented by a constantly changing backdrop of London's most iconic sites, the boats are a hugely popular choice for wedding receptions. One particularly interesting wedding in August was centred around an “Into the Woods” theme. This allowed Dish to get creative, creating a menu that gave subtle nods to the film's beloved fairytale stories such as Jack and the Beanstalk.
Christmas was as always a busy time of year for TLC, with company parties of all shapes and sizes taking place every day. One event on the Elizabethan in early December boasted just about every kind of entertainment you can imagine! As well as a three course dinner prepared and presented by Dish, guests were able to enjoy entertainment from a magician, caricaturist, DJ, mixologists, photographer, saxophonist and even six Brazilian dancers.
As always a year couldn't pass without the boats featuring in some interesting film, TV and PR projects. The Erasmus will be seen in the second series of Lucky Man on Sky, and also set the scene for the River leg of Phil and Peggy's emotional day out in London as Barbara Windsor closed in on her final episode of Eastenders.
The Elizabethan was also heavily involved in the launch of PG Tips' green tea product as well as providing front row seats to Virgin Media's spectacular #BeTheFastest PR event, featuring Usain Bolt.
So another exciting year has passed and Dish are proud to be continuing our long standing relationship with the experienced, passionate and friendly team at TLC.
